I bought this case for its attractive price.
This is actually a true shell speck and new in its box but unfortunately compatible only with the white MacBook model in 2009.
I did not need to try it on my macbook pro A1278 because it is clear in any letter on the box:
Suitable for white unibody - new model in October 2009.
INCONSISTENT with the white of the previous generation MacBook and MacBook unibody aluminum / macbook pro
