The advantage of this 2 PC version compared to the 3 user version: There are two CDs included with two different license codes. So I can install the second CD 100 days later and have full 365 days protection. The 3-er version in this case would offer me only 265 days protection, since there is only one license code there.
I am fully satisfied with the Norton Internet Security 2012 and get it in this version continues to recommend to my clients.
For product:
Installing and running. Users will no longer constantly with "Your computer is at risk if you do not use the paid version of our program" annoyed, as unfortunately is the case with most free antivirus software. The updates come automatically and almost every minute (-what but you can also turn off and only the longer intervals if one uses for example uses an Internet-volume tariff). The updates also include any "surprise eggs" such as a new Internet browser a search engine manufacturer then even purely consists same as the standard browser or a search toolbar. This makes the free virus scanner then but no longer fully free, right?
The performance I am also very confident. Norton was a few years ago decried as PC-brake, so Symantec has worked very neat and their product improves more and more since 2010. In the 2012 I feel really no interference from the antivirus more. The updates and periodic background scans are performed during periods of rest, so it really only interfere if times a restart with a newer version of the program is required. What I would have recommended, is at least one PC with 2-core processor and 1GB of RAM.
The Internet Security still offers additional optimization functions (Defrag), a check for Resource eaters (including an indication of those Process ID so that I can track the resource eaters precisely with "tasklist / svc") and also offers the possibility startup programs to analyze and eliminate the Startup Manager. Who does not want so much Comfort, the Resource verification but also off. I let them hold on, because my computer and also of my clients are fast enough that resource reports (eg high memory usage) should appear only rarely in a well-configured system, otherwise the PC has a problem anyway that would have to be resolved (eg : more memory / less background programs).
