Here the work of the Stones is first in chronological order, as others have completely rightly. So a veteran like me can again relive almost in fast-forward 50 years, but it's not just the usual milestones on it, but also indispensable songs such as: "Play with Fire", "Out of Time", "Child of the moon "," Salt of the Earth "! Certainly, everyone will personally miss own favorites such as "Moonlight Mile" or "Blinded By Rainbows". But not all kanns law be made. You can`t always get, what you want. The two new songs are in my opinion much better than the four filler on the "40 Licks", but as others have said it all.
All this and the order of the songs but leaves "40 Licks" then in many ways to look towards "Grrr!" Old!
Only, and here's the catch: this comprehensive and great balance gibt`s unfortunately only on the 4 CDs at a price, but it has in itself. And apparently is due to the to packed frills, which is amusing though (see the other reviews!), But not for everyone and everyone's shelf and everyone's purse. So universal and Abko, is there still something with a stripped-down edition of the popular 4-Box?
Another word for sound: It has apparently mainly to the stereo versions oriented, with - sometimes whimsical - exceptions such as "Mothers Little Helper" and "19th Nervous Breakdown", which appear to contain mono, but what `s, for is "Time on My Side" in the class of stereo Chicago Session 1964 here. And mastering leaves nothing to be desired, Bob Ludwig is responsible for CDs 1 and 2 and Stephen Marcussen for CD 3 and 4.
Conclusion: A Compilation, which leaves nothing to be desired, but you want to share with everyone, really
Supplement dated 24.11.2012, only for the "luxury edition": Care! Were on the CD 2, apparently from the packaging, adhesive residue. Amazon has changed the box without difficulty. But also on CD 4 of the new box was on the outer edge glue, I have painstakingly removed. I do not know if I happened to get the only one two "Monday boxes". All 4 CDs I have now packed in plastic vests, but sees nothing out. Well then.
