The first CD is overall quite disappointing and is named Best Of not deserve in my opinion. The big hits from the 90s are once again not included as original recordings, but either the 2004 admissions or as completely new 2014er remixes. These admissions can not compete with the originals by far. Ironically, the less successful 2014er remix of I am so happy for you has been released as a single, although the current studio album has enough new material The lightness of being and of potential hit singles are teeming.
The songs contained in the original (from 2003) are indeed qualitatively excellent, but the selection is limited for the ultimate Best Of album. While the Title men are warriors how to love, and so are little more known, it is missing some crucial titles from the past 15 years entirely (eg Anyway for you the last lifelong, deep inside me, forget it, no matter what the heck , I still want you, Damn I have nothing, or at the window).
Luckily, Hallelujah, I Love You, dreamer and I'm not in love found their way to the CD, but that should be expected from an ultimate Best Of album also. The capacity of the CD is mostly used with the playing time of about 75 minutes, with still quite a title more could fit on it because the maximum playing time of a CD is 80 minutes.
The major weaknesses of the first CD to be ironed out by the second CD a little again. The eight Unplugged versions were recorded live and are consistently outstanding success. These recordings testify infected what high musical competence in Matthias Reim and his band. This is best handmade music without using a computer or other technical aids rhythm. These titles make you want more music of this kind. The two remixes (which were then made with technical assistance), can not be mistaken.
Qualitatively, these are an excellent CD. In quantitative terms, however, the playing time is quite low with about 35 minutes. The free 45 minutes could have been easy to increase with the aforementioned lack of sellers.
Although the second CD has become terrific content, the attribute deserves this Best Of album by no means an ultimatum. Under ultimately I understand on the one hand, that decisive hits are included, in the original versions. This is here mostly not the case. The big hits from the 90s were used only as a weak admissions or remixes, important titles 2000s missing. Another key issue in order to designate a product as ultimately can, in my view, that the possible season is fully exploited. Again, this is not the case here. Stay on two CDs in total about 50 minutes unused would be enough time for 13 or 14 more titles have been.
For people who are beginners when it comes to Matthias Reim yet and want to get an overview of the complete works of this great musician, The Ultimate Best Of album is suitable in any way. For this, I recommend the one hand the CD My Best, which gives a good overview of the period from 1990 to 1999 (where also here a few items are included as admissions) and the double-CD All The Best, which covers the period from 2000 onwards.
Overall, I can struggle through only two stars for the present album me unfortunately.
