Unbearable stench plastic

My first thought was, my dear man, that stinks of plastic. Did the bristles then washed, dried and put my knife in. The next day, cooked, pulled out knife, the blade smells like plastic. So what seems to me not at my food, and I do not want the blade and rinse before each use.

Since I have the package unfortunately discarded moves the thing in the trash. Even if the smell in a few weeks should be gone, this is not a quality which I accept for food. The next knife block will probably be made of wood.

Update: Eight months later, the knife block still smells pungent. Had put him in the basement and forget.
