The Nikkor 50 / 1.4 D is a very old construction. So this lens has neither an ultrasonic AF motor even an image stabilization on board (with the latter, the new 'G' version does not have). For this you get beaten much brightness for the money. The absence of these modern features does the image quality by the way no harm. It still is one of the best lenses that Nikon has ever designed. At the modern SLR APSC it resembles a portrait telephoto, and accomplishes this task exemplary. With wide-open aperture you can not only under low light conditions make good recordings without the sensitivity (ISO) to have to unscrew, the subject can be exempted so effortlessly even when a sufficient amount of light. The disturbing background disappears into the creamy blur, and the eye is automatically routed to the subject. Since the above cameras use only the central part of the image circle, the shots are sharp from edge to edge, and the other optical defects are limited. Here you have to make chromatic aberrations, vignetting and distortion really no worries. Who / performance puts emphasis on price, should look at this lens more accurate. In my eyes, you can save the 60, and pick up the D instead of G.
