Some doses as a guide to make 1 liter of liquid (tested with pure water, and a 50/50 mixture of water and oil):
1 teaspoon (approximately 5 grams) - thickened soups and sauces light
2 teaspoons (10 g) - Dessert Sauces and light creams
3 teaspoons (15 g) - creams, puddings and lotions
At higher doses, the consistency similar to thick glue or hair gel.
The bond commences immediately after addition and strengthened over the course of 1-2 hours easily. In pure water, a slight taste of its own is at high doses to determine as soon as the liquid, however, itself has some flavor, you realize nothing more - all less than when binding with cornstarch. Actually for most household uses ranging 1 pinch to 1 teaspoon, so the package contents should reach several months.
The reclosable package convinced - flexible, stable and waterproof, as it were, but no thicker than necessary.
Overall a great binder at a reasonable price given the yield.
