On Windows me the tool is however a nightmare. The former (very long ago) clean interface is still exchanged for an overloaded and / or meaningless GUI. No idea who is responsible for the user experience with Acronis, but whether these are really experts and see if there really is times tested on real customers? I have my doubts.
The version that was sent to me was out of the box can not be used. A backup was not possible and the GUI was provided so inappropriate to show on the notebook monitor (current Lenovo with 15 "display), as it was not possible for me to move in. I had to necessarily invite Update (luckily gabs Internet ), which extended the functionality of the tool, and some features (update control, ...) maneuvered to other locations on the surface.
I wonder anyway, why the surface must be constantly revised? Can we not simply maintaining times and add features instead of the usual exchange structures that are useful, rather than these to be repealed (s. Other reports here)? This constant Geheische to the attention and favor of the customer who wants to be always blinded because it indeed is a up-to-date version 2015er and ultimately is now also getting better ... ;-) like we experience indeed in browser war to the versions: As of Chrome is already on version 40, while Firefox herumdümpelt still at 32 - how can that be? Then Chrome must indeed be necessarily better, right? But only at the margins, sorry.
After the update, I configured a task that should secure the computer regularly and you're coming back into the familiar Acronis climes: Works of course not permanent. Since writing the image discontinuation after another comes, the verification could not be done, jobs get stuck, so I took then another (new) external hard drive in order to circumvent the problem: Works currently yet, but the test Images of supplies from time to time errors / inconsistencies.
I'd like to go once the matter to the bottom, because I basically insinuating the team Acronis craftsmanship. But why the hell is the software (not the unique PC Magazine test, which praises the software in the sky and its label then the outside is emblazoned on the package) torn regularly in the practical test of the user? Exception? I do not think so. Well, how do you get to the bottom of the matter now? About the inferior support, which is not light already in the Enterprise environment and an employee is unaware of the acts of others? No thanks.
Recommendation there again on my part no. But maybe there are still users, the real (!) Know alternatives to Acronis? There has to be for domestic use software that allows no more fumbling in configuring and distributing an archive countless files (log, MD5, etc.). Just a file and it is good. Even when the picture similar case: CD pure, choose whole PC and off they go into an image file, which then must be distributed without Zuweisungsalgorithmik the user still exactly on sectors. Well, anyone? :-)
Updated on 02.03.2015:
- Furthermore, no great feat of Acronis. Again and again, the drive is not found, because change of drive letter. May perhaps be due to Windows, but you can not intercept programmatically? Perhaps an ID write to the HDD and check if it is available ID and then just to use the new drive letter? If this situation occurred again, I have to reconfigure the complete assurance. The existing job can no longer be used.
- In addition, it is often not possible (on different disks) to validate a backup successfully.
- The other day I then from a notebook via boot CD created a full backup that was in the end, "Completed Successfully". Unfortunately was in connection NO image file on the drive. It's great, because I let the backup run with a friend before I have passed with him. Now I have the backup job well trigger again - when I visit him again. Very unreliable.
