I've already bought some third-party batteries in recent years for this laptop, and never able to find such problems, however, these batteries were also more expensive.
It is astonishing that the original battery still works, but it is no longer keeps long.
But after all these years (the date of purchase 2006), a battery may be defective. :)
The 3rd-party batteries were all much earlier defective, namely so that these were no longer to be used.
This shows that there is absolutely huge differences in quality.
Unfortunately, there is apparently no longer possible to buy higher-quality batteries, I could at least find none.
These batteries here, I tested some of different dealers, all the same, I say simply times.
Presumably, a large distributor has flooded the market with these batteries, and only the customized stickers to the respective dealer.
Why do I say this?
All batteries which I had bought in the past few weeks (whether 4400mAh or 6600mAh) switches off when loading, thus showed the same mistake when A1667G.
All batteries were visually 100% identical, eg had a small bump on the cells (my earlier exchange batteries also reported at least design technically minimal differences on housing).
All batteries have a corresponding label from the dealer, which looked very generic.
All batteries were not correct serial number by the manufacturer, in part, a number of traders was noted, but which can of course be no serial number (the dealer is not a manufacturer).
Some dealers printed 10.8V, 10.8V to 11.1V some, yet others just the same 11.1V on the nameplate (but I had all the variants had been, and could not tell the difference).
I think the market share is too small just for these batteries, so that there is no more vendor diversity here.
Too bad, I will use the battery only for surfing, and otherwise now need definitely a power supply for demanding applications.
2 stars for which there is at all to buy batteries. ;)
Note in the margin:
With a firmware update v1.07 for the 1667G (is not Fujistu available) is very much an operation with Vista x32 / x64 and Windows 7 x32 / x64 possible.
I run the 1667G (2GB RAM) with "Vista x64 Business" and it runs hereby even subjectively smoother than with XP.
Even the upshifting and downshifting of 800MHz to 1800MHz (ML32) work with appropriate tools properly.
More information on internet search.
Vista is supplied until 04.11.2017 with patches and licenses are very cheap (approx, 15 to 30).
Since SP2 also Vista is not really worse than Win7.
The only times as a hint, if you want to be a little longer alive a notebook of this model until it comes to electronic waste. :)
