The film is about three independent, parallel stories of those experiences have made with death: On the one hand this is an American medium (Matt Damon), the earlier a lot of money with Readings - deserved - making contact with the dead. Then the story of a French journalist is told that completely umkrempelt their lives after a near-death experience. And finally gives viewers insight into the agonizing loneliness of about twelve years, English boy who has lost his twin brother in a car accident and is now desperately trying to take on supernatural way contact with him.
So far, so exciting. However, I have asked myself as a spectator from the beginning: When meet these three people to each other and what happens then? The film ripples namely quite shallow in front of him and gives an insight into the lives of these three people quite boring. There is a lack enthralling moments of tension, surprising twists and eye-opening effects. Only quite at the end, while one has tormented by tough, soporific scenes, the medium travels to London and meets at a book fair to both the journalist and the twelve year-old boy. Then everything goes but very quickly and the film is - whoosh! - Over. What brought me to this meeting as an unnecessary act of yawning, I'm missing at the end. Here I would have liked a bit more "relationship work" and insights into the interaction of people.
On the whole, I can not recommend the film. Only Matt Damon likes me as an actor - hence gets "Hereafter" from me two star.
