The Oblektiv acts überrraschend small at first glance, and comes "Canon L-typical" with an imitation leather storage bag and lens hood supplied.
The lens cap (like a small ashtray designed) is slipped over and snaps on the hood, which is additionally secured to the bayonet fitting of the lens by a spring-loaded lever. The attachment of the lens hood I find very good, the lens cover could however sit solid or possibly should be secured similarly. Anyway, rattling the lid with me what the very high-quality impression of Fisheye something limits (if that means also complaints at the highest level).
The operation itself is explanatory and it's fun to take part in this hand. Feel excellent, even that would be worth a few stars! (Limitation see above). The setting rings run silky smooth and the autofocus works very quickly, although here, due to the focal length, not the same requirements are produced as with a telephoto lens!
Most often I use the lens with limited focal range (limit switch), so the focal length range 15mm to 10mm. Thus, the images remain largely vignetierungsfrei (the round, typical fisheye look is inspired by Crop cameras only when you go under 10mm focal length).
Especially when shooting in churches and interiors brings the larger diagonal field of view but some advantages over the EF S 10-22mm, which I also use.
Conclusion: This lens makes very much fun at the architectural photography or when searching for it's unusual viewing angles. Of course there are subjects that are not suitable in my view, for this lens. For example, motives not run down the middle with distinct straight lines that may be deemed motif allows horizontal and sag. For example, a sailing ship in the port at which the hull semicircular distorted what works visually very irritating. But if you want to try out new perspectives and may also with surprising results or life disappointments, it is worth the price in any case !! In direct comparison with the EF-S 10-22mm sensitivity is excellent on backlight, which I is responsible primarily for my HDR images, because I no spots or reflections habe.Selbst under direct sunlight or better backlit scenes (which, in the image angle happen more than you think), this part proposes excellent. (A few examples I will upload, otherwise seen at Traumflieger good pictures).
All others go to the EF S 10-22mm on a crop camera not bad (at half the price!).
Those who struggle through to purchase: Have fun and little guilty with the small marvel on the camera or in the camera bag (and then as soon as possible on top of the body!).
