I have four connected audio / video equipment along with LCD TV in the living room. Everything works terrific right away: Smart TV, Internet radio via the Denon AVR and Amazon Fire TV and Blu-ray are ready to receive a flash. Picture and sound running without interruption of the best quality. Because it is pure joy!
I am so pleased with the results so far, that I have now gained me a second copy of the workspace. Now via power cord with another of the four Giga ports of 7490 are connected to me on only one line further four LAN connections in the home network for office work available. Without the switch would be such a fast wired networking of PCs, servers, printers, etc. not möglich.Für my needs, the two switches are (if they hold for long enough, what they promise!) The perfect solution!
One flaw, however, had the second delivery: Lag 2014 carton of first delivery (Made in China 2012) nor the advertised power supply with on / off switch on cable, is now in April 2015 (Made in China 2014) only the naked power adapter at .The Quick Start Guide gives the lapidary Note: The power supply may be different depending on the region. Whatever shall mean this ...
My immediate complaint at Amazon resulted in the conclusion that I would have the device for replacement to return. Alternatively, I got the 0180 service number of the manufacturer for the demand for a replacement power supply. The Amazon service was very friendly and willing to credit. But since I was instructed to urgently immediate use of switches, I renounced a return. So had in this case a connector strip to serve, and I contented myself with the credit.
After I registered the GS 205 MyNetgear, I will soon take the German language support hotline for the amended power supply to complete and if necessary to submit at this point an addendum.
Conclusion: For me, the two 5-port Gigabit Ethernet switches turn out to be a worthwhile purchase, so I forgive - regardless of the (wrongly delivered?) PSU - five stars for the product!
And here is the promised Addendum: My support request in Netgear (after registration of the instrument) was very gracious, but ultimately solved quite unsatisfactory. The answer: "... Thank you for your patience I'm sorry, but the power supply with on / off switch is no longer available Netgear stopped selling this power supply only what is on the market, will be sold."
My conclusion: Within six months, the product price will be much more expensive - but reduced cost-saving in the quality of the power supply for the manufacturer. I still stand by my good review for the product itself. For the manufacturer Netgear, however the costs described practice is not a good business!
