For 39 euros you can one or the other to forgive and turn a blind eye. However, those willing to spend a little more, in the longer term better served by 4000.

SUPPLY AND PRICE LEVEL

In the blue softbox with double zipper 31 x 16.5 x 6 is located next to the machine a thick manual and very little accessories.
The 2 collets are completely inadequate for the use of tools, for example, can not be connected the Dremel SpeedClic system.
When reordering collets and chuck with Amazon Prime 22 currency units are due. Thus, the effective cost of an executable Dremel 3000 without accessories increase considerably. Without accessories because what is provided, is not worth mentioning.
These are a few euros less than my two Proxxon IBS / E that came with enough accessories in hard case. I reckon the accessories, the collets and a Bosch-suitcase to the Dremel is approx. 35 more expensive than the Proxxon IBS / E.
MACHINE
- Mini-drill, made in Mexico, 130 W, 220 V, cable 190 cm, weight 540 gr without cable, very short, compact design, Low tools with shank diameters up to 3.2 mm (when collets be bought ), combined on and speed switches as a sliding switch with 6 steps:
off, 2,4,6,8 and 10 (probably x 1000 rpm?). Acc.Manufacturer to the spindle up 33,000 rpm turning (idling with no load).
MANUAL
The thick manual, A5 format, has 104 pages of which 7 are in German, of which 2 1/2 on the operation (tool change, operating speed, carbon brushes, cleaning).
The useful information could fit on an A4-sheet, but there may be in the mountains of Albania or the swamps of Romania, a few clients are currently connected to the power supply, you must of course be informed of safety instructions. Therefore, hundreds of thousands of German customers are supplied with as much printed paper.
Otherwise, the font is too small.
ACCESSORIES
As the Manager of Dremel have focused the scope of supply on the manual and a promotional DVD, unfortunately, nothing is left for accessories.
Actually no talk value, the cheap stuff that is in a small plastic bag vepackt, weighs a little more than a letter, namely 43 gr. Spare collets or chucks were not there.
I have found me at Amazon, the Dremel Collets 4485, Model Number: 2615448532 for 11 euros and the Dremel chuck 4486 for 12 euros.
Thus one must be connected both SpeedClic mandrel and all other tools to be able and the machine is then ready for use.
The bag is made of hard foam, is beautifully dressed with a perfect finish, with double zipper.
It is überdimensionniert for the device, but a standard Dremel accessories box as it is supplied with the SpeedClick- and other tools that will not fit into it. A duchsichtige food plastic, such as those found at the drug store for 1.99, but already.
MACHINE
The machine itself is of good quality and that is what finally arrives.
The 3000 is very compact, rd. 5.5 cm in diameter but shorter rd. 0.8 cm thicker than eg the Proxxon IB / E.
That's a whole lot and big hands will feel so well.
Unlike the Proxxon the Dremel is closer to a spherical stone as a tool handle, the black casing material on the front and back of good tack, feels a bit soft. The Dremel in tight corners very strong.
Really good, ergonomically seen, is the 3000s either in drilling stands or with the flexible shaft. For a long time in order to remove rust directly or to make fine works is because of the massive shape and relatively heavy weight of approx. 0,6 Kg with the rather stiff power cables, exhausting.
Weight. One should if possible guide the workpiece to the machine and not vice versa, the Dremel drill with a lot of plastic is not exactly a dream machine (see reviews). The Dremel Flexible Shaft enjoys in terms of stability, not the best reputation (see also Amazon reviews).
The rounded neck shape of the 3000 it also forbids, they clamp with a 43 / 20mm adapter into a standard drill with Euro norm.
The Proxxon IB / E can be, however not only in 3 different drill house brand, 2 of them clamp good to very good, but also countless engine mounts.
While offering the Dremel everywhere nylon and plastic and not aluminum die-casting as the head of Proxxon IB / E, but that does not matter.
Weight, gap dimensions, quality materials and not the slightest play in the spindle, all reveals a solid construction and is in stark contradiction with the supplied accessories.
POWER
For the Dremel 3000 scores mini-machine with robustness and a strong power, the power consumption is specified with 130 W (Proxxon IBS / E: 100 W, Micromot 50: 40 W).
As these mini-machines operate but tools with very small diameter, is a very low power at high speeds usually sufficient.
For example, are sufficient for Manükure 5 W, for pedicure 10-15 W, for drilling in wood and soft metals up to 4 mm by 40 W.
The milling and cutting of stainless steel etc. should of course real drills with RD. 700 W and more are reserved, schliesslig; Lich tried to not even a leopard the Bundeswehr with a VW Polo tow!
If some Amazoner therefore complained that the machine gets hot and starts to stink, so that's not surprising.
Wood, also hardwood, plastics, brass, aluminum and steel are not a problem to 30 mm for the device with the richtien tools.
The machine is only as good as the tools that can be connected and supplied, paltry loot, only visual meaning.
The work product depends not only on the engine power, but from the tool. I use eg diamond cutting discs, tungsten carbide cutter, cobalt steel or titanium-nitride-hardened drill etc. and tools cost many times the machine. So I'm on extradition without tools rather happy about the lack of collets and chucks, against annoying.
SERVICE
The stepless rotary switch of Proxxon is also superior to the 5-power levels-slide switch of Dremel.
From experience, I know from another machine that over time dirt settles in this groove and there gummy, especially when you dirty hands has sticks grease or paint there. The use of separate, large on / off switch of Proxxon with work gloves is quite possible. Apart from the continuous Steurung is more advantageous, however rich the 5 power levels of 3000 look good.
The volume is normal, not unpleasant.
MAINTENANCE
The carbon brushes are accessible through lateral openings. Unfortunately, the slots are only 30% of the length thus cut for a Schmallen screwdriver and not for a coin provided, which can not only cumbersome but also damage to the plastic cause.
CONCLUSION
The 3000 is a robust, powerful machine, the delivery weak or incomplete and the value for money thereby unfavorably and I would therefore not rate 4 stars.
After I though they upgraded, I increase my rating to 4 stars.
