The single starts with Afterlife and seems to start in the middle of a song, what it leads to a small irritation. The start, however, is fun, just because it is completely different times. There seems to be a good pop song, then the sound is quieter but, Chris Harms The Lord is once more with his voice at the center. For this he sings sometimes calm, no Shouten, no growl. The chorus you can sing along quickly, it is pulled along by a simple rhythm and just kept guitars. Still sitting on the drums disco, a small farewell to the fans. The piano version is then once again the typical sad. Lately the band puts enhanced value to these quiet moments and versions, on the little finishing touch melancholy. A beautiful version that is starkly apart from the following. Afterlife of Death is a remix of the chummy band fornication and lets the song before playing faster than the original. Added to this is the typical electronic, something distorted, mechanically Chime. A nice remix with Power, the pretty good combines the music of both band together. This War brings back quite Power on the disc, heavy guitars, a Chris Harms, who seems again to go out more from yourself. The song builds on previous pieces about Dry the Rain or Prison. Could definitely please those who are plates on the previous LotLs of Fear or Antagony. The Ballad of Love is clearly Morsal, who is supported by Johanna Moresco, which is famous for Crüxshadows. Piano in the background accompanies the gentle vocals, the strings make quite a sad mood, reminiscent of classical and film music. Here, the remaining band members seem to totally missing, which is a bit of a shame, but makes the song not worse. It fits in the winter, to spend lazy afternoon, a bit also to heartbreak and of course death. Pure cliché for Gothicer, for all other definitely a preview value.
All in all, given Lord of the Lost a good start to the new album here. The clip to Afterlife is not too shabby either. Black and white mixed with tragedy Endzeitstimmung, eroticism and a twist of Lord of the Lost.
