I purchased this adapter for Manfrotto Superclamp 035 + Ball Head. If you screwed together everything stays between tripod head support and "035" a gap which is about as wide as the cylindrical part of the knurled threaded adapter. Since the clamping surfaces on the cylindrical part of the adapter is very small (ca.d = 16mm) would be very highly stressed in bending the adapter. Because at my application (clamping tripod + camera weight) would be the rule, to me the risk of breakage would be too great. Remedy: I'll get me a thick slice, which must be slightly thicker than the cylindrical part of the adapter, so that when tightening the ball head to the "Superclamp" the large contact surface of the disc absorbs the forces and by the greater distance from the central axis of the bending stresses at the screw can be significantly reduced! A single slice of M16 (available at hardware stores) is too narrow - but two superimposed likely rich. (... Or matching steel disc itself turn ;-)
