You get here a nice game in hand, the graphically spectacular stands out from the hopelessly outdated WoW. Do not know any other FF games, so no comparison, but the atmosphere is really nice. There are different landscapes, such as the wide wüstige / rocky land to Ul'dah around, forests, lakes, the sea, a snow-covered area .. and still day / night cycle, all lit up in addition the atmospheric.
At lvl 15 go (forcibly, if one follows the story quest .. what is recommended in order to get access to mount / zeppelins) in the instances that are difficult from her claim with increasing level. To get new players who bring no experience from other MMORPGs, the opportunity to slowly einzufinden in the system and their role. Does not always work well, as well as to show no fueling tanks at Lvl 30 around - but because the game can not help it.
It is great that you can level up all classes with a Char. Unfortunately I missed already in the second class the quests, I was probably too greedy at the first class. But it can by instances (partly very long waiting period of up to two hours as DD or Heal in the Finder), charters and Fates still leveling quite well.
Compared to WoW & Co, and especially for very dynamic GW2 fighting in FF14 are rather slow.
LONG CAST HOURS: As a mage you have at least 2.5 sec cast time, greater skills also want by 3.5 or even 4.5 (think ...) are casted seconds, and during the casting time you have to stop. This makes movement intense boss battles a little difficult and you need a little patience.
LONG GCD: given the global cooldown is 2.5 seconds. To not be noticed at the usual casts as Black Mage, but probably in the one instant skill and instant Procs. This means that you can influence the instant, and then have to wait 2.5 seconds until you can affect the next spell. For non-Caster classes that must be still some annoying.
A few words about things that should be improved or negative notice:
GROUPS: As soon as you open a group, you can do no more charters, and you can not make with colleagues Story Quests (if you have to make an instanced quest). That's a pity, because you can not help friends in their quests (like SW: TOR) and charters while waiting for the instance Invite fall away.
Chocobos: The mitstreitende Chocobo is a very great thing, especially when levels of healing classes. Practically, it is very difficult, because the Chocobo then forms the player group, so that simultaneous registration in the Dungeon Finder and do that from charters excludes. Very sad - if you have to wait 2 hours to have an Invite, then you could take the Chocobo in time when levels but at least. As it is, the mitstreitende Chocobo is only very limited use.
Is also a pity that you can not address the Chocobo from NPCs. That is always first to settle in front of the response, and then saddle up again.
"SKILL TREES" / GAME Variance: From WoW and similar games you know it, that the possibilities to play his class, are extremely diverse, as you can specialize normally. That does not exist in FF14, at least not within the job. The Black Mage is always the same. There is no choice between different elements OAE. But you have to play what you get on Skills and properties. Yes, one can assign attribute points, but that hardly makes sense: everything goes on intelligence.
Well, you can switch between classes / jobs - but that also means repeatedly high levels.
It should be noted that at least the black magician's fun. He gets a nice game mechanics on hand (which you can not vary, but makes very good damage, and Manamanagment is not a problem) and acts subjectively just very strong: D
Another thing is always the healer. Nowhere heals as intense and with as many skills as in WoW - that remains my absolute favorite healing.
My White Mage in FF14 is only lvl 30 and I still do not know exactly what it looks like on 50, but I think so to be able to say that he does not reach far to WoW when it comes to mechanics and different skills. To 30 at least to heal with a single-target heal and a group Heal. That's all. Not exactly sophisticated. "Emergency Skills" does not exist - at most one gets from the Thaumaturgenbaum the "Instant-makers", so that one may exceptionally rausdrücken a Heal without casting time. All you can do is to cast a cast after another: no Instants or protective bubbles or at least faster + manaintensivere Casts like in WoW.
I hope that there still is doing what in the course of the next 20 Level / in the job class. In different situations you can hardly react differently. And: if mana is all, it is all. So far (Lvl 30 Druid / White Mage) there is no mechanism that helps the healer to husband his Mana better. Ok, in instances as a healer that was previously not a major problem, because they have not been too demanding to heal. When Boss Fates it sucks more. Here it is not enough to heal, but you have to make damage, and it's a shame when at 50% HP boss simply no more mana to cast to.
All in all, the game is fun! At least the levels of the first class with all the quests and discovering the world quite bucked.
