Scenario 1
- In my apartment the power line system is quite outdated.
- Fritz box and NAS are about 25 m away from the office on the same floor.
- I had ever tried 500 MBit systems from Netgear and DLink, but not even reached the performance of WLAN and fell.
2. Installation
- Extremely easy: Simply insert Powerline adapters in the sockets and connect LAN cable. Done.
- With me hanging on Tripple Adapter: Fritzbox, NAS, ASUS RT-56U, the simple adapter: the PC.
3. Performance (simply times measured quite amateurishly with the Windows copy menu)
- Over the Fritz box 7270 to reach me via WLAN just 800 KB per second real data transfer (ie, for example the transfer of Windows 8.iso file with 2.7 GB would take significantly more than an hour) => unusable.
- About the Quick Router Asus RT-N56U, which I had bought as a remedy after the powerline solutions had (so) does not work, I come (if nothing else is running in WLAN) to 4.4 MB per second (or about 11 minutes for Windows 8.iso)
- There are over the Develo 650+ real about 6.7 MB per second (ie 7 minutes to the huge Windows 8.iso)
=> The real power of the Devolo is 650 + system with me (ie under the worst possible conditions) "only" around 54.6 Mbps and thus only about 1/3 the power that shows the dLAN Cockpit software for connection (177 Mbits) and not even 10% of the theoretical 600 Mbit.
=> BUT: This is for my apartment via Powerline real achievable the best ever value and absolutely practical.
=> I am satisfied and will keep for the first time a powerline system.
