Value of the "big" version

After further inquiry at the Vorrezensent I have now bought part (but on EBay, incl. Shipping costs 4 cheaper), and indeed for a 88mm wide Samsung Galaxy Mega, which is in a silicone sleeve and thus comes to just over 90mm width.

As usual Brodit the part is very stable, thick plastic, as breaks so quickly from nothing. The joint subject but obviously (compared with other Brodit holders) variations in quality. While earlier held good, you can here make over tightening the screw no satisfactory solution in the adjustment of the tilt angle: either the holder tilts the weight of the phone too far forward, or you have to apply as firmly the screw that you can not tilt more can adjust. But that is depending on the sunlight sometimes necessary.

Unfortunately, the mount is also contrary to the friendly response of Vorrezensenten NOT designed so that you could expand with drilling or filing the application width to 1-2mm without sacrificing complete stability. With a bit of shaking and not fully tighten the screws (the way other screws, these have nothing to do with the ball joint criticized) the Galaxy Mega went but purely with protective sheath. The I share only with those interested, who are looking for may just wider support, but it is not included in the evaluation, since it is officially intended to 89mm width (and it also fits).

This is my third holder of Brodit, but this time I'm (almost 40 including for this slightly larger version. Shipping here for some plastic !!!) extremely disappointed by the price-performance ratio. I have a simple device-specific mount system that fits well on the claw system of judges, bought for 7. This serves the purpose just as well, also has appropriate cutouts for the camera, buttons and charger. Actually, it is - for a fraction of the cost - even better if you are looking for no universal device because it fits perfectly on the device and nothing wobbles or can be solved (problem with phones that do not require the full width of the bracket). I had bought the Brodit holder so I reinbekomme the unit with protective cover. Otherwise you would have this (in an exactly matching device-specific mount system) always decrease and to impose new later, making them wear out over time and the phone no longer contactor (laterally penetrating dust, mobile schlimmestenfalls falls out). Next time I think about if I will not would rather invest the money only in a low bracket and replacement cases that would ultimately cheaper.

I order something like free a good idea in good qualitative implementation. But the price-performance ratio is simply lousy especially at this great version Brodits universal mount, the price is grossly covered (more than 5 times as expensive as my other, otherwise evenly matched device-specific holder). In addition, since you can not set the ball joint satisfactory (here you could instead use a pivot laterally and down dip Einraststufen), 3 points are already really good meant by a hitherto loyal Brodit customers.
