If you follow his music for some time then you realize that he has not changed fundamentally in all those years. This can be good or bad, that's for sure at Pharrell a mixture of both. Especially in recent years, the Crowdpleaser who has tinkered hits for one or the other pop stars, his work with Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z did clearly good. Even the song Blurred Lines Robin Thicke and Get Lucky Daft Punk have arisen with him. And if these productions run, then Williams will remain on the safe side and joins with a similar-sounding album and completes the chain of fortunate circumstances. Its quite high voice is unmistakable and you notice it actually immediately when the initial 40 to the microphone celebrates his party.
On GIRL unfortunately are only ten songs, all of which have ostensibly the goal to make people dance. While Happy is now a bit older and was originally timbered for a soundtrack, but of course is the great figurehead of the album. One is clear from the outset: Pharrell Williams stands on gyrating hips, best of pretty girls! While many songs in shallow radio retro flowing style as in a cast out of the boxes and apparently spread a good mood and basic atmosphere, it is, however, only to Gust of Wind feat. Daft Punk really funky! Not that the songs would be boring before. However, one often has the impression that because Mr.Williams runs a standard program and are tired of high waves, and knee and elbow pads has! Lost Queen and know who you are with the beautiful Alicia Keys are also great songs, the latter has a nice groove with reggae touch, Lost Queen is however advised with just under 8 minutes running time a little long. With It Girl we are then already reached the end, and even here the whole not the whole picture (sound) takes off and goes so unerringly back to the marina.
Pharrell Williams currently floats at the top, has won 4 Grammy Awards earlier this year - the people love and appreciate him apparently for his work. In my opinion, and I have already criticized the last album of Justin Timberlake, it's all but somehow too predictable and ironed what is delivered here. It lacks clearly rough edges here and there a strong guitar and more steam from the exhaust. Certainly a good album, but unfortunately also one which was too soft knocked clearly. For all those who have made Pharrell with Happy happy for the first time this album is a gem, fans of the first hour, however, will no longer speak in a few weeks about it. Of this you can go out.
(3.5 / 5 stars) but rather to tend 3 because Pharrell has already done much better music.
