Operate the unit in a Pioneer plasma via HDMI cable (cost 10 Euros extra). Quality leaves nothing to be desired. The player is also quiet. Remote reportedly somewhat weak and cheap looking. The highlight is the USB port. This is provided by Philips apparently not for video, but can be used just with Divx or Xvid videos without major problems, for example via a fast USB stick (eg Kingston DataTraveler USB ReadyBoost 2 GB). I use also a Western Digital Passport 160GB HDD, but these must be connected simultaneously with a USB Y-cable to PC and DVD player, as the USB of the player provides only 500mA current. The player can also easily codefree be connected and also a firmware update is simple to perform Internet download and CD. All in all, a lot of technology for relatively little money.
