Who would have thought? At a rather inconspicuous Kinderfilm Mark Isham wrote a beautiful score, which is characterized by a change wealth, beauty, and the right degree of humor. In this score there are both beautiful, and powerful and clever themes that are prominent enough to remain in the ear even after the end of the season and which recur repeatedly in variations. One of them is already presented in the initial song that has emerged with unmistakable participation of Sting (Sting sings and was co-writer), and also impressed and protrudes far above the usual level of movie songs. Although some critics say Isham had too much Horner and Copland cites (which I can not deny), makes this score a lot of fun and has magnificently. It succeeds - certainly also thanks to the excellent orchestration of Ken Kugler, the discreet and extremely economical use of electronic instruments and thanks to the recording technique that captures the music with warmth and fullness - even in the louder, faster-paced action passages never on the Nervous to go. Without quite expendable closing song by Bryan Adams, the CD would have been an even more 'rounded' thing - it does not disturb other seites so much because Varese has put him in great wisdom to the end of the compilation. Way to go, Mr. Isham!
