Mounting the base:
As the "Easyfix" also, is the "Familyfix 'basis anchored by Isofix directly by car. This works well, but the FamilyFix base has really little more game and you really have to be to get this fixed very hard. A pity, I find that this basis can be really fixed only by Isofix. When Easyfix yes goes both (Isofix and strap) so you are in an emergency (rental cars) independently.
In addition, both stations have a base which prevents frontward tilting. This is adjustable in length and therefore fits in any car.
Safety Display:
FamilyFix base has an audible and visual indication of whether everything is properly engaged. On the display there are three icons for Isofix anchoring, base and car seat and only if all three are green, everything is properly fixed. Is not that, then the thing beeps and can be seen on the display where the fault lies. In principle, very good (just trying it out at home and in the store it is annoying if you do not have Isofix it clicks). This display requires, however (which should hold but another 5 Years according to dealer) batteries. Personally displaying "Easyfix" station is there but prefer. The only visual and does not require batteries - and thus functions always guaranteed. Of course, is not really a downside :-)
Fixing the seat:
The actual child seat is simply "clicked" - directed the infant carrier backwards, the child safety seat facing forward. To remove one presses on the front of the base a button and can remove the seat. The baby seat that folds super (is significantly lighter than the Easyfix station), with the child seat we did it once and it went well.
Unlike Easyfix station FamilyFix has an adjustment of the seat position. The child seat can thus be brought into a rest position that the name really deserves (many other child safety seats, I found the fact a joke). And now comes the big selling point: it works well with the infant carrier. In this there is no rest position, but you can put the seat upright. For older children who can sit on, great! This position namely provides more legroom. In the next largest seat the child is supposed to change only when the head has arrived at the top and anyway not before the child can sit and mind. 9 kilos. But many children come much earlier with the legs at the seatback and sit uncomfortable, or they want to see what. For additional seating position is great.
Conclusion: We then have a basis for Cabriofix Shell sought and were given the choice between FamilyFix and Easyfix. Since we did not want to commit to the Pearl-seat early, we ended bought Easyfix base (at that time only half as much cost). Had we known that the FamilyFix base moreover provides an added value, it might have been different.
So since the FamilyFix base has become more affordable (currently at Amazon 131 - Best Price!), I would advise all parents to this purchase!
