I bought this cable to allow me to position a Rode VideoMic Pro microphone closer to people I recorded under training.
It is convenient because light, and the spiral keeps security in case someone takes it!
The audio quality does not suffer. You just be careful not to have a mobile phone placed 10cm cable while recording!
I also used to lengthen an analog audio output PC and connect it to an amp. Very good results also in stereo.
