There a few years, I loved the novel by Frédéric Lenoir and Violette Cabesos, "angel's promise." So I was very interested in this new novel, promising a historical intrigue equally exciting. Sure, the author has worked about it, she presents two exciting parallel eras (17th and the beginning of the 30s). Many also description of alchemy in general, most of the really interesting as, but could tire the uninformed reader. But the most disappointing it is especially the rhythm of the book. Once in Prague, heroin seems more buffeted by events actor of his time, so that we expected a lot more presence at the start of the novel. The secondary characters are rarely exciting, even the wicked are flat. We feel V. Cabesos uninspired on the topic of alchemy thriller. Too bad, because the novels on this subject are few and rarely interesting ... Thus, "The dyer of the Moon" is for me a rewarding novel and reads quickly, but it does not leave a lasting mark and forget quickly. Prague remains the description of the seventeenth worth visiting.
