The night vision device is delivered in a small package velvet bag, strap, battery and operating instructions, which you should read better. Here it is important that the NSG is not pointed at bright light sources in order not to damage it. Above all, it must be remembered!
The NSG itself is moderate, relatively compact and easy to use. If the battery is used up front, you have 2 options: from night vision device on / off and IR lamp on / off. The buttons are easy to use and give a solid impression. Front and rear you can adjust sharpness, whereas in fact only the front eyepiece should be rotated for focusing. I had hardly any need to set it back compared to other reviewers sharpness additionally. The principle here is very similar to that of an SLR with the eyepiece.
The 3-fold magnification seems appropriate, although I have imagined that one could between 1- and 3-way switch, which is not true. As intensifier the NightSpy 3x42 good only conditionally, but delivers results in the area tidy 10-15m and partly good results to max. 20-25m. Of course, with IR lamp. Through the 3-times zoom and not too strong IR light the field of application is limited, even if the performance is perfectly acceptable in above-mentioned range. I'm going to maybe get a separate IR lamp, to see even further.
///////// Conclusion: //////////
In conclusion I can say that the NSG provides Bresser for 120 very fine results at 15-25m, but at greater distances, even with IR lamp circuit. The 3-fold increase in the angle of view is severely limited. I can say I like it at the model with 5-fold magnification looks, but here is likely if the IR light is not better, you look even less. The operation is easy, the battery should last up to 6 hours and solidly built, it also acts.
I highly recommend this NSG for beginners and amateurs who want a bit of playing with dark infrared illumination to which I belong. Professionals or Hunters will have no joy with the 25m and with but small 3x zoom either. The same is true for light amplification. Otherwise, I was quite happy about the money!
