I have purchased a Caviar Green WD10EARX recently and was sadly disappointed. The board is advertised as very quiet, but unfortunately this is only the case when no accesses are made.! Have a spare board of WD obtained, unfortunately, did not improve. The number of hits (eg HD Tune test the access time) are much too loud and annoying in my opinion. Not so with the WD10EZEX from the Caviar Blue series (1 Platter), which is much quieter at the accesses, you can hardly hear them. The transfer performance is much better than in the EARX.HD Tune: 183.7 Mb / s max, 147,6Mb Avg, 943Mb / s min. Only when the Zugriffszei EZEX is slightly slower (20.5 ms / vs 15,5ms) The temperature is at two plates in my PC 29 degrees. I am very pleased with the hard disk and can recommend it only.
