If you own a Samsung TVs (UE46 ES7090) I really wanted to take the Anynet function in Anspuch. The Smart Hub feature is already included in the TV, so it needs the player not being able to.
The network connection via the LAN cable I used only the first start of the system update. The Internet functions including running fully on the TV. Thus, I needed no player with Wi-Fi.
The commissioning was absolutely no problem. The settings, as well as the three devices (TV, player and Soundbar HW-E450) each with an HDMI cable (not included!) Are connected.
In conjunction with the other Samsung devices only one remote control is needed. Even switching off is with the TV remote control.
The reading of the discs can be heard clearly, but the play is very quiet. Depending on the surface, I recommend a soft surface. Because after approx. 4 hours continuous operation buzzed the player. But that was only because he stood on the receiver and by the turn of the wheel vibrated this. I now have 4 felt pads (actually for chair / table legs) underneath and the player will not be heard.
The picture looks in connection with the TV in both 2D (eg, Fast Five, Inception, Snow White) and in 3D (The Avengers, Avatar) operating class. It looks crisp, runs without stuttering after a short Einleszeit. The upscaling of DVDs (eg Series 24) happened in a very good quality; since awaken movies to life. So far nothing negative I noticed.
Overall, I'm after a short period of use (4 days of continuous operation) absolutely satisfied with the player.
Summary:
+ Compatibility with Samsung TV (Anynet)
+ Reasonable price
+ Quiet
+ Short charging times
+ Easy handling
+ High compatibility with different film formats
+ Chic design
+ Low power consumption
- No HDMI cable while (but most other players do not)
Conclusion: Anyone looking for a 3D player that do not have a smart hub and does not need to be constantly connected to the Internet, get with the Samsung BD-F5500 a current (release March 2013) Player of the upper middle class. In conjunction with other Samsung devices (Anynet) a clear recommendation!
