Deus Ex made him shade. It is almost impossible to talk about Human Revolution without comparing it to what remains one of the the most famous video games ever.
In the early game comparisons: I do not mention the technique (2000 absurd to compare a 2011 game with a game on this point) or lifetime (equivalent to 30 or 40 pm for everyone in my case). I preferred the story of the first Deus EX (full of conspiracies, manipulations by various factions, etc ... but it stands well to the end!), For the theme of HR against me more passionate (transhumanism). In both I like quite enormous choices available to end. Regarding the artistic direction at the time that the first Deus Ex had left me rather indifferent, while that of HR I liked (albeit it multiplies the winks oeuils too supported some classics SF ... it almost becomes the "fan service"). Regarding the level design, it seems to me that in Deus Ex against there were just over possible solutions and that can be the areas were larger (I mean, my memories back to 2002 ...) although HR still retains this side "multi-gameplay" quite special. I think it is especially this aspect that there may be some disappointment.
The real regret, and it is not directed to HR but to all games of this style is the lack of progress in the field of IA When comparing these two excellent games released at the same frankness 11 year intervals is crying.
Eidos superbly resurrected this franchise but failed to push further. There's no element of surprise we had at the time. There are what we expected, but nothing else (well ... if mandatory fights against bosses that have nothing to do there at all because in the minds Deus Ex)
But frankly I had a great time with this Deus Ex HR. His aesthetic "black and gold" is superb, his world calls me, and I try to spend with finesse or strength I really have fun. In addition VF is good with a successful dubbing. This is not because qu'HR underperformed Deus Ex 1 on some points he does not mean a great game. I even find it surpasses without problems most AAA games this style out on the PS3 / 360 period.
