I started with Metro 2033 which I loved. Small disappointment, it no longer follows the adventures of Artyom, the hero of the first book. But we find Hunter + some new "heroes" for a new adventure. The universe and the atmosphere developed by the author in the Moscow metro after a nuclear holocaust is very nice. However, with 2034, it is applied to write a dynamic story in the first opus. If you will feel the oppressive side of constantly living in a metro plunged in the dark, baggy everyday mushrooms and trying to survive the mutants and vindictive humans, first in 2033 and then go to 2034, you will not regret it no.
