For my BLU-RAYSAMSUNG BDF5500 player, it works but you have to select the menu in the player PCM coding.
(If you want a "good volume" set to OFF dynamic control on the DVD player)

For television, the optical output of my TV Samsung is not configurable on digital audio format;
This results in a non-operation for TF1HD chains FR2HD, C +, HD1, Equipe21, 6ter, Numéro23, RMC, Cherie 25; Curiously it works on ARTE HD ...

In short for the small price, it was not all;
Otherwise when it is compatible, it works well.
