Helen Shapiro is a very good British interpreter of the early sixties with a nice voice. I knew his success and i want to discover a little more, so i bought this set of 3 CDs: - CD1: Simple, - CD2: The interpretation of hits 60 - CD3: other securities referred as "rareties". CD1 includes all single published by EMI that match his time to success. Then it will pass under the control of Pye and many others. The first twelve songs on this CD include the 11 singles ranked in the charts (top 50) from 1961 to early 1963, two No. 1 "You dont know" and "Walkin back to happiness." From 1963 its simple no longer classified but pleasant to listen to as reversals of "Shop around", "Tomorrow is another day," "Here in your arms," "In my calandar," "When I'm with you 'or "Sometime yesterday." CD2 is also pleasant with good interpretations of 30 songs from the early sixties known as "Will you love me tomorrow", "The day the rains cam", "Are you lonesome tonight", "A teenager in love", "the Beyong sea "," You mean evrything to me "," You got what it takes "," My Guy "(average)" Hes a rebel "," Walk on by "," Baby its you "and" Please Mr Postman " (good but less than those of the Beatles), Its In His Kiss (best known now by Cher) or Stay (much better by the Hollies). CD3 reveals other interpretations as good Its my party, "I Cried myself to sleep last night" & Here today gone tomorrow, I Walked right in, When you hurt me I cry, excellent pieces of blues with St Louis Blues, Blues in the night or A teenager sings the blues and many more like Just a line, Its so funny I Could Cry, or Frag mich night warum. For me this is the best CD of the three. Good, the price / quality ratio is excellent.
