while enumerating the lenses is a further important aspect: the very high resolution, which is almost completely supported with actual pixels, places very high demands on the lenses. If you want to get the most out of the camera, which will make you look better or worse, have to say goodbye to the advantages of "Always draufs». Even with older tele-zoom from film days there could be closely in each individual case. One can work around the limitations of image quality, Ex .: photographed in aperture below 7.1 or shrink images generated by ~ 50-60%. A reasonable objective does the job here, however much more flexible.
In some specialized forums, the D800 is seen less as an actual D700 successor, more than followers of D3x (emphasis in the studio, rather bends at higher light sensitivities, a slowly)
It is mainly due to ISO 50 and very fine detail drawings added a significant strength in the studio. If the camera Internal noise reduction off (not "strong" on) is also visible much digital noise. In case of heavy noise reduction is the noise on D700 level, at a higher resolution. On top of that here in the extended ISO range (from 12,800) disappear from the red dots D3 days, woduruch the photos remain usable.
What about the ergonomics?
The from D3 (00) / D700 known lever for point selection had to make way for a "Live View" lever. The measuring fields are now selected by pressing a combination of pushbutton and aperture wheel. With a bit of getting used, it is still possible to choose the focus areas when shooting in the viewfinder. You have to get accustom nonetheless.
The weight of the camera is much better distributed than all predecessors. Although it is only about 100g lighter than the D700, but feels felt like ~ 1/3 of Lighten, also with a bright lens.
The 100% viewfinder makes composition significantly easier and more predictable.
The thumb rest on the rear housing part is much more unusual to flat and does not deserve its name basically. It is not recommended to do without when shooting on a neck or shoulder strap, especially when you go through concrete. That it actually better Nikon may have shown not only in virtually all other cases, but also the optional vertical grip. Here the thumb rest is excellent. Why not also the case? The handle is basically necessary also because of the very low endurance of the battery. It is located at 50-60% of those feelings of d700 battery.
Finally, perhaps the very high dynamic range it should be mentioned that lands on the sensor. With practice in developing so-called HDR images (almost) become superfluous.
The people who can not decide between the D800 and the Canon 5dMkIII itself could stand for the help of these questions:
I -Have no Lightroom? (In Canon mitgelifert)
I -besitze already reasonable Nikon lenses?
I -bin ready for Canon lenses to pay 20-30% more? Virtually identical performance?
-How Important is my videography? (In my opinion the video mode of the Canon 5d the d800 vastly superior from Nikon)
I -Mache like cutouts of photos? -> The D800 is ideal for this purpose better to
I -brauche the 5.7 images / second? Hand me 4.5-5 frames / second?
