Processing and handling are very neat, the lens does not look cheap, is lightweight and with 49mm filter on the Camera (NEX-6) is not too large, corresponds in length compact adapted prime lenses (Leica or Olympus Pen F). A pancake, it is not so, but ergonomic to use. Nothing rattles. The corresponding sun visor looks cheap. Let's see how long the lock nipple. A storage bag is also missing (Sigma delivers what with). The manual focus is soft, but slightly delayed. Shortcomings in the autofocus vote, at full aperture already sometimes significantly prominent, you have probably the Camera attribute. Even at full aperture, the lens is very sharp to the corners, but only with medium contrast and therefore pleasant effect. When stopping down to f / 4-5.6, it is then extremely sharp and leaves no wish unfulfilled. The operated by SONY construction cost into perspective the price somewhat: 8 elements in 6 groups is not too much for a fast standard lens. SONY used here concave / convex assemblies similar to LEICA in his latest designs. The result is accordingly excellent; also with the finer NEX-7 sensor is likely the lens not be overwhelmed. I doubt that the same focal length lenses adapted MF more convincing can afford on the NEX as this lens. I recommend this lens as "Always top" lens, what it must be with me at the moment too, because the Kitzoom (16-50) is at SONY for nearly 2 months for repair. 35mm focal length by the way is more like 55mm small format, so can be a bit "long" act if you have no other focal length here. Too bad for the NEX system that Sony at this price probably not too many of them will sell, because the aternative from Sigma, certainly 1 1/3 stops weaker, there are already about 1/5 of the price.
