Anticipation of the entry: Setting up of transmitters and network is straightforward, semi-automatic and worked with me easily within minutes. The supplied wireless stick the TV had even better reception than my laptop - same distance and same 3 partitions understood. HDMI cable (not supplied) connected to the DVD player (for me the Panasonic DMP-BDT310, also very good device, in harmony with the TV) and finish the installation was.
Now the picture: First I noticed the rich and deep black tone. Some comparable devices shine with all the colors of the rainbow, but do not create deep blacks. Unlike the P50VT30E. Here one finds also rich, saturated colors and - if necessary - razor-sharp contrasts. Through the deep black, however yields only a very real picture.
In some forums and reviews now the "Floating Brightness" is bothersome, it involves an automatic brightness adjustment depending on the ambient light. What strikes me is this, however, that the contrast, not the brightness, in broad daylight sometimes pale. I do not consider it as disturbing, however, also can park with 3 key presses alignment. A frequent change of contrast as movies is not noticed until now.
In operation: a quiet operation is very important to me, even low noise while watching TV, I feel fast as disturbing. Now you have an electrical appliance, and just a screen of this size, are always cooled somewhat. For this purpose the P50VT30E over several fans on the back. So far, they run completely silent, only the screen itself can often notice a very faint and brief whirring. So overall a very quiet to silent TV, I find very pleasant.
Now a small flaw: The TV uses allegedly, depending on the setting, the wall behind the Tonverfeinerung. This can be easily switched on or off in the menu. In both cases, I sometimes a little bit seems sound but undifferentiated. In scenes with great sound spectrum of the sound seems sometimes a little wide and flat ironed undifferentiated.
Operation is intuitive and easy. Many useful features, such as the "Guide" function with complete program overview of all channels up to a week to make, a life easy (and sometimes disabling, because unfortunately does not increase at the same time the quality of the TV, the quality of the television program).
An addition to the TV mode is the so-called. "Vierra Connect". This allows you to have an Internet connection Live Streams See (eg Arte +7) or stop by in various social networks. The latter I have not tried it yet, streaming works quite well. Quite well, because I sometimes pause the stream with 3 partitions and a bit needs to load in reserve so that it then runs smoothly and with good image quality.
In addition, you can watch over "Vierra Connect" Media via one of the 3 USB ports. The device fortunately swallows quite a bit, from AVI to MKV on MP4 format. He does not want only some mpg2. The play goes this smoothly and without charging time (only with USB2, USB1 for I have nothing to try).
3D:
There are so far only a few films in "real" 3D, so with real stereo camera (?) Was added. One of the few is "Avatar", and there's so far only in the special edition, which is in some DVD players (eg my-BDT310 Panasonic DMP). It literally took my language. About other devices you can often read that the depth effect is indeed, the whole thing but more like a showcase acts in which no plasticity forward, ie towards viewer, occurs. "Avatar" on the Panasonic P50VT30E is however incredibly plastic! Depth effect AND stepping out of the TV, just like in the movies, just fantastic!
The two supplied 3D glasses keep the way with a cargo which about 180 minutes Freely. As good size, I can wear them as glasses over my glasses comfortably.
As I said, there are so far only a few "real" 3D movies. I have only a "non-genuine" as a comparison, in which the effect is very good, but in comparison is much weaker. The conversion of 2D to 3D (eg times Tagesschau in 3D) creates problemos the P50VT30E, a constant effect works here but only in really high dissolved image as HD-TV or BluRay.
Conclusion:
Although no "in vivo" comparison with other devices, I am very satisfied with the P50VT30E. At the present time I would decide again for this TV.
The Pro's and Con's:
Per
- Very good quality with many well thought out details. Note: HDMI cable not included.
- Silent to silent operation
- Very good picture, rich blacks, vibrant colors, if necessary razor-sharp contrasts
- "Vierra Connect" as an additive for many formats via USB connection. Besides, many formats are accepted (avi, mkv, mp4, etc.)
- Excellent network performance, the wireless reception is better than my laptop. Streaming works very well
- 3D effect with very good effect. Enter the details even of the screen not only as a showcase with depth effect, in "real" 3D out
- Supplied 3D glasses sit well also on the glasses and are comfortable to wear. The battery lasts at least 2.5 movies (~ 5h)
Contra
- As described above, the tone on me sometimes seems a little simplistic. This is very subjective and may not bother some. I do not mind really, but a bit more precision would sometimes do well
- A small Contra thing for me is that while you can load streams over the Internet and potter about in social networks, a real browser for free surfing but missing. But a comparable device with such a function is not known to me, so only small Contra
- The automatic brightness control is me not noticed negative and can be, as I said, stop. Personally I can not therefore be regarded as Contra
- Also not as I Contra values that the USB ports are not USB3 compatible. With adapter and an appropriate update of the firmware (semi-automatic) is the determined but resolved soon
Overall, I can only recommend the P50VT30E. And whosoever is looking for a matching DVD player, which I can the Panasonic DMP-BDT310 recommend. Both devices harmonize very well, not only because they are from the same manufacturer.
