Very good NAS for those seeking a simple and effective dispostif.

In my specifications, I wanted a model with 2 HDD location mirrored (RAID) with 2 HDD model RED (special NAS), a simple interface whenever possible and acceptable performance.
2 models stand out: the WD My cloud EX2 and reference 215J Synology. The simplicity of my needs NAS, the presence of native RED 2 HDD configured in Raid original, simple installation have won the face of increased performance and functionality synology. The equipment arrived just as quickly and the WD My EX2 cloud has delivered really is a very simple installation on my NAS livebox play through the WD interface. Simple and functional in minutes. Only the setting for streaming media playback on my network is not configured original. I have a bit of fiddling and using WD via the "learning center" allowed me to find the option box without too much difficulty.

Going through my recent ultrabook with wifi standard "N", no more worries, I significantly more throughput with 10MB / s in general. L) more comfortable, but still insufficient to make large transfers.
The solution to 8 euros buy an ethernet cable (mini 5E standard) and 15m to connect the PC directly to the livebox play 100% Gigabite. The tranfers are so much more efficient: 110 MB / s
Copying files (video / photo) of a NAS (LiveBook) on the other (MyCloudEX2): 48MB / s where through the CPL liveplug HD + (modèle200Mb / s) I was only 1MB / s.
In short, the MyCloudEX2 keeps its performance promises.

It does not heat too, has 2 USB3 that increase the storage capacity. His works well with a USB3 stick or a small HDD USB3. But it is frustrating to see that a direct copy over the contents of a 20GB external HDD plugged USB3 USB3 port WD MyCloudEX2 plant every time! Must process packet 15/20 GB max for transfer on the NAS content that is desired to store / save.

For tranfers, so it is best to plug the USB3 disk on the PC and connect gigabyte.

The Cloud is configured during installation. It is very simple and functional immediately. The WD app for windows phone allows me to access the NAS content without problem (not gold mp4 videos).

Unsurprisingly, WD My EX2 holds its own cloud! The simplicity, its argument # 1 is to go, the excellent performance wired gigabye or otherwise dependent on the network (PLC, Wifi and standards of this!).
