It works on principle of activities:
For example you can create automated actions, like "Watch the Freebox", this action so you turn on your TV, freebox, and your TV will automatically switch to the correct channel, you can even dedicate buttons on the remote to the TV during this activity, for example I freebox driver with all the buttons on the Harmony except the volume keys, where I pilot the TV volume rather than the Freebox.
You can create as many activities as you want, for example I created two other activities:
- Watch TNT (TV turns on and switches to the DVB-T)
- Watch a BluRay (the TV turns on, the BluRay lights and the TV switches to the chain BluRay)
For example, if you have already started an activity, like "Watch a BluRay" and you decide to watch the Freebox you simply press the "Activities" of the Harmony button, and you press "Watch the Freebox" the BluRay player will automatically turn off, the Freebox will light alone, and the TV will stay on as the remote control "knows" that it is already in operation.
If you have finished watching the Freebox and you want to go to bed, you press the button "Power" at the top left of the remote control, and everything goes out of a block, this is a class act.
Another thing I think is great, you can create lists of favorite channels for each type of activity, for example you can create a favorites list for the activity "Watch TNT" and another for "Watch the Freebox "you can assign each favorite channel logo, just pressing its logo and the chain is started, the number of favorite channels is limited to 24 per activity, see all these logos apparaitrent on the touch screen of the Harmony it is once again the class.
About Favourites, what I find great is that once you have pressed the activity to launch the remote display on the list of favorites, very convenient.
Here is a site where you can download lots of logos already created for the Harmony One:

For owners of Freebox, where the colors of buttons allow you to validate different functions in the menus, you will find them on the touch screen, as there is no "physical" color keys on the keyboard for that it's a little more practice, I have assigned the "exit" of the Harmony key to the red button, the "back" button (with the little returned arrow) to the green button, and two small up and down arrows for blue and yellow buttons.
It may happen that some TVs do not display the image of the Freebox start of the activity, because the Harmony turns on all of a block, and since the Freebox starts faster than the TV, no "impulse" is detected by the TV, so the screen is blank, a solution I adopted for my Sony Bravia is to program 4 additional shares for the activity "Watch Freebox"
- 2 second pause
- Extinction of the Freebox
- 2 second pause
- Start the Freebox
So basically it means that the activity light on the TV, freebox, turn off the Freebox, and rekindle the meantime the TV has had time to start and detect the Freebox well.
It's just for this last point that I put a "but ..." in the title, because I find that Logitech could have the possibility to set a break to light a device for starting a business, it would avoid this makeshift solution.
I insist on the fact that all TVs are not affected by this concern, but in case you have the problem, you have the solution, it is what it is but it works.
The remote has a good scope, but I will say a bit less than the Freebox, consider a little closer to your hardware or a little better guide if you have small problems at this level, I think in particular of those who like me have a little too high in relation to the TV stand sofa that is low, if for example the Freebox is at the top of the cabinet and at the bottom it will not top you will certainly need to bring the Freebox or down one level.
In any case, the remote control is really great, but I agree with what others have said, you really need to spend time to make everything perfect, at least if you are picky like me.
I hope my review has been helpful ;-)
