I am very happy with this humidifier. This model does not offer function last cry, but it is a simple mechanical with some electronics and it is rather guarantee of reliability over time: the principle is a breakdown which creates a current of air in the tank humidifier where a roller 'milfoil' rotates continuously, causing a large wet surface in contact with the moving air. Air dust are thus captured on wet wheels while the water evaporates into the air. The principle is simple and differs from most market humidifiers that are either cold vapor (evaporation ultrasound) or hot steam (resistance). The simplicity of the system priori gives good longevity and allows it to operate with low power consumption (no resistance or greedy device: just a small fan and a motor for driving the roller, 38W in everything according to the manufacturer). Plastics are resistant, not brittle; indeed I happened to break the bowl of another humidifier (I'm a little sensitive to this argument) but I think that this model does not fear a little fall, which is a good point. For your information, I need +/- 3 days non-stop to empty a tank of 7 liters at full capacity, which gives you an idea of what you expect from such a device in terms of humidification (enough to moisten a large room).
If we find things wrong, I rather regret the absence of an integrated hygrometer. Furthermore, position max fan (I always put in this position), the unit is a bit noisy when the house is quiet; during the day this is absolutely not a problem but I would not consider turning it in my room at night. Finally, the water stagnates a bit in the tank before being evaporated into the air and any stagnation of water tends to favor bacterial growth; Beurer knows this and therefore provides a bottle of an antibacterial solution (and anti-algae ...) that we should not forget to put in the water at each fill. This will account for the use of smaller operating costs. There is also a Calc-bottle provided. Note that these additives are not sold on Amazon and I do not know how I will do for me procure the appropriate time.
Just put one in the other it is a good machine, durable and efficient, well suited to small or medium pieces, but poorly suited to rooms at night because of the noise of significant wind tunnel.
