That's a very good Win7 Tablet So a notebook with touch screen and stylus operation. It has a different audience than iThingy or Android tablets and various skills that you will not find it there as
+ Pen operation (a very precise Wacom Digitizer)
+ Plenty of computing power (dual-core i5 notebook with benefits)
+ Handwriting and voice recognition even in complex / long documents
+ Plenty of ports like USB, etc. and easy access to things like NAS or printer
When comparing the unit are the target devices the tablets and Connvertibles HP, Lenovo (Not the S10-3t that X2xxt) or Fujitsu, have comparable audiences
Base Unit
The housing feels sturdy, especially when it's in the envelope. The screen has a good viewing angle and the digitizer is calibrated clean. The system is very quiet and the generation of heat is kept within limits. The computing power is good, the i5 provides significantly better performance than the dual-core Atom netbooks (comparison device a S10-3 is therefore a high-end netbook)
The 64GB SSD (Something about 30GB free) is sufficiently fast and takes the "fear" of disk problems caused by movement. The card slot accepts SD and 64GB USB can connect additional disk
The pen has its own garage with push effect and comes with several replacement tips. The cover of the USB ports are stiff but resilient. The cover of the SD card slot is a slot which is then replaced by the map. Loss risk
The control buttons (waking, Power) are somewhat delicate and clear without pressure / movement point. Because you have to get used to. The lack of access openings to SSD and RAM is disturbing, ditto the battery (The device is quite easy to open)
Shell
The included cover does not fit well but to Stram. All ports and elements are easily accessible. The material is odorless and makes a stable impression processed. It allows setting up the tablet with the stand feet do not look so reassuring. Unfortunately, a Velcro element to connect the cover and the sheath is missing.
Battery
The weak point of the system, but this is to be expected. In normal use (browsing, voice recognition, some video etc) the battery lasts 3-4 hours. This is normal in this price range. The alternatives are netbook CPUs (such as HP tablet or Fujitsu Q550) or very expensive systems (Fujitsu T900 SSD => 2000). Whether the balance between power and runtime adapts to decide each.
Charger
The small charger can be packed well but takes a long time to recharge the battery during operation. It seems a bit dainty, which from my Lenovo netbook is in terms of robust connector and charges the battery faster. Compared nit the loader of the Iconia A500, the system is normal / comparable.
Currently, there are for the various external battery pack (about Energy to Go XP18000) still no suitable plug. Once they are out, the external battery pack, but a solution to the problem battery (in US forums have people already plug "improvised")
Keyboard
A Microsoft USB keyboard Asus Mufty. The ergonomic shape is used to, but the keyboard is well what pressure point, size and path terms. A number block is missing, it's a netbook keyboard. Since it is Bluetooth, can use the keyboard after booting
Digitizer
Wacom digitizer with pen and limited touch recognition. It detects reliably between pen and finger. Especially nice for me is that the finger operation can be switched off.
Sound
The sound system is robust middle class. The Micro is good and suitable for voice input
Software
Win7 Home Pro with pleasant little extra software. It is filled with the mini version of MS-Office, to a few tools of ASUS and Intel. No 90Tage demo software etc. Win7 in this version can handwriting recognition and has voice command software integrated.
Conclusion
A nice device with robust price / performance ratio for a Windows tablet. The star deduction is available for
+ SD card tab
+ Fiddly USB Slot Cover
+ Windows version (supported in this manuscript only one language, ditto with voice recognition)
+ Lack of access to SSD and RAM, makes upgrading difficult.
After 10 days
=============
I have the machine now almost ten days and am increasingly excited. The machine is powerful enough to Dragon Naturally Speaking to use ten, thus enabling a perfect speech input. For this, the ability to enter text using the stylus and MS Journal can send its messages directly via email after I have recorded handwritten make the unit a perfect helper in meetings and when I create ideas and concepts. With switched off WLAN and Bluetooth keep my battery about 4 hours, more than enough for each meeting. The format is also perfect, together with the cover, the device is easy to carry and robust.
After 1.5 years
===============
He lives, he hums and he has not scared any competitor :) Even after more than 18 months, I'm still well pleased with the EP121. Meanwhile, it runs under Win8 (since the day of publication) and is a bit more pleasant device become as Win8 has increased particularly in the area handwriting recognition again and a little more space on the SSD remains. Attempts to replace it with a Note 10.1 were unsuccessful and the Atom-based Win8 were unconvincing - at the end it is the more rounded package. The device accompanies me every day as a notepad, Surf Station, EBook reader, presentation platform and occasionally times for programming. Only on the sofa it is somewhat cumbersome - we just read in the chair :)
First reflections on the replacement in Q3 / Q4 of this year are on but not because of the EP121 is bad but because systems like the helix (or limits Sony Vaio Duo11 / b) promise to be much better and my "dream" a portable Core i System with 8h operational time and
End of Era:

It has but then took it again two and a half years until the EP121 is no longer my main machine. Since the beginning of June 2015, has been replaced by a low acquired Helix 1, at 500 I was weak. Any how could me the Surface 3, per with or without, not 100 percent responsive even if the Pro / 2 and Pro / 3 did to please technically.
The battery was after four years of almost daily use to go far at the end, but hanging on the cable, it is now my eBook Reader and coffee tray and has replaced in that job a 10 '' Android. OS is Win8.1 and the system is running otherwise still robust.
