I bought a toothbrush as a substitute for Oral-B Triumph 5000, when the battery after about 4 years was at the end. The cleaning performance of triumph had convinced me. Since I have not used all the other bells and whistles of triumph, I now chose the Professional Care 1000 as these according to factory specifications having the same cleaning performance.
With the toothbrush I'm ready also very satisfied. With respect to the cleaning performance, I could not tell the difference from the Triumph. The toothbrush is also well made and fits comfortably in your hand. There is a kind of overload control which aims to avoid that pressing too hard against the teeth and gums. In my opinion, you do not need this, but it does not bother me. The built-in timer allows the toothbrush bucking every 30 seconds briefly and stutter a little clearer after 2 minutes. I find this timer sufficient. A display as it has the triumph, I do not need at least.
So, up to this point I would have given 5 stars, but now I come to the disadvantages of this toothbrush:
1. The battery: After just over 2 years of daily use (about 8 minutes per day), the battery is already worn out the extent that after 2-3 days I have to recharge the toothbrush at the latest. I find that totally unacceptable for a product in this price range. Furthermore, the re-charging time legendary 17 hours. (1 star deduction)
2. The power supply: I could not believe when I by chance found before a trip to the US, that the power supply is designed for 240 volts hardly. That is also completely unacceptable, because even the cheap power supply is multi-voltage capability today. Even my shaving of Brown works without any problems in the US. (1 star deduction)
3. Sustainability: Unfortunately, the battery is still installed firmly so that I now buy me again at least one new handpiece and must dispose of the old with completely intact motor and housing. (1 star deduction)
Conclusion:
Actually, the Professional Care 1000 is a very good electric toothbrush with a very good cleaning performance. However, in my opinion, so clearly outweigh the disadvantages for that I will now for the first time seriously (after 10 years of Braun / Oral-B) deal with the products of other manufacturers, before I buy a new electric toothbrush.
