The luminaires offer at first glance a very good workmanship and I feel the plastic of the housing as not necessarily cheap or even fragile. The brown-gray (difficult to classify) plastic is running smooth and slightly shiny and corresponds to at ground-level installation in beds quite well around so that the lights do not too much notice. Included are two earth spikes that enable easy installation into the ground (even in something more solid ground). The actual light unit is then simply inserted into the corresponding holders of the earth rods and can be removed at any time again. In addition still 6 dowels and appropriate screws are included for the lamps.
Businesses are the lamps on the 3 baby cells (C cells) that are not included but are available for purchase at any discount store. To insert two screws have to be resolved, which fix the back cover (goes without tools using a coin or a fingernail, well resolved). When you insert one should also equal to the two settings (light duration 20sec. / / 60sec and Glow function on) make, because this is only possible in the battery compartment when not installed batteries. Not an ideal solution, but you will after an initial adjustment rather rarely want to adjust the two switches. Other settings, such as a sensitivity control for the motion or photosensitivity do not have the lamps.
So far so good, until this point, the lights were actually still convincing good, but now for the illumination and function. One must distinguish two applications:
Floor mounting spike:
The product images of the lamps (which are also indicated on the package), exaggerate in Puncto illumination immeasurably when it comes to street lighting. A careful reading of the product description would have revealed this shortcoming directly because 20 lumens are no large light output. So the light cone at ground-level assembly 40 is enough - 50 cm wide. So you would need an armada of these lamps to illuminate a path as the product images (I do not know how long the exposure time of the product images was). The Glow mode (allows the lamp in darkness weak light), can indeed imagine, where the lamp is, additional security, as advertised by the manufacturer, it does not provide in this installation.
The motion detector triggers at this assembly about at a distance of 2 meters from, when approaching the side (which is likely to be right-handed in a pathway lighting), so also here less than specified. Nevertheless, the motion detector is very reliable and recognized at least in the reduced radius any movement.
Wall mounting:
If the lamp is mounted at a higher altitude, the range of the motion is a little better. Also, the illuminated area increases, however, the luminous intensity so that spread over a much larger area and the intensity of illumination decreases.
Glow mode:
This extra I would like to again mention separately. It means that the lamp dimmed at nightfall in front of him is illuminated. The manufacturer speaks of additional security. However, the light intensity is sufficient at best, to see where the lights are (and at 5-6 meters distance you have to make a hingucken). An illumination of the environment is not given and extra safety reveals itself not me much. He is expected to contribute only to a shorter life of the batteries, so I shut it again.
Overall, it must be said to operate that although the bulbs work well, however, remain in all respects beyond the information provided by the manufacturer back. For the motion detector function reliably and the lamp brings a little more brightness than most solar lights and consistently, while solar lamps with progressing night or progressing usage usually lose brightness as the battery weakens.
How long will the batteries, I can not say, of course, if one can believe the manufacturer's instructions on this point, I can confirm that the batteries have held for so long or not in one year.
Summary:
+ Good haptics
+ Splash-proof
+ Good workmanship
+ Solid earth spikes
+ Motion detector works reliably
+ Battery
o Glow mode barely helpful
o no customization of the motion
- Can be set only when the battery of removed
- Performance data differs significantly from the product description and product images from
Summary:
The lights work and many alternatives that work only with batteries, I have not yet seen. The lamps are better than cheap solar lights, but the actual performance deviates significantly from the product images from. One way is to get not illuminated with these lamps in the form as suggested by the images. The illuminated area is maximum. 50 cm and the motion speaks at Erdspießmontage until 2 meters distance at. Therefore, the lights can be an alternative when no conventional lights can be connected, but for example, a step is to be illuminated. However, one should not expect miracles of 20 lumens. Due to the excessive product description it is sufficient for just under 3 stars.
