I have, despite some reservations by other reviewers bought this printer (because of the new ink cartridges and the expected higher costs) but ultimately - the Canon replaces an Epson Stylus Photo 830 - and never regretted. Here are a few comments: - The operating noise is pleasantly quiet - Paper feeding performance class (the Epson has always tried to collect the entire stack), with TDK or Aldi photo paper. The Canon also noted when the paper is all, the Epson did not care ... - The cost of printing: the Epson I could about 15-20 A4 pages to print photo print, then was the color cartridge is empty (not all colors, but that helps a 5-color cartridge not). The Canon has been printed about 20 A4 and A5 35 photos in the ink level indicator is only cyan and magenta become a little less, the others are still displayed in full. I expect about 5 times higher yield compared to the Epson cartridges. - The printing quality was not bad at Epson, but the Canon is clearly color fidelity, the expression matches the screen fairly consistent. - Print speed is OK, about 120 seconds for an A4 photo (the iP5200 is faster with the same quality). For me, the print quality is ultimately decisive, so I can happily recommend the iP4200. The printer is an all around successful product.
