I am Kamelot fans and listeners for many years. Am also very pleased with the two early works Eternity and Dominion which still radiate with Mark Vanderbilt on vocals very own different charm, sound here Kamelot much US power metal-heavy. Now this then changed before the entry Roy Khan and his debut victory Perlious. Now the triumphant march of Kamelot started with albums like Fourth Legacy and Karma, also Epica could still convince a lot. I would then call the 2nd chapter of Camelot. With Black Halo then took a certain grim, slightly gothic-heavy mood entering into the band's sound, at Black Halo also interssant and with the still existing basic sound of the band a successful new mixture. However, this made for my taste with Ghost Opera rapidly, this album is for me even the worst of the discography, the successor Poetry for the Poisoned was indeed a successful coverartwork points, but this time the song material is no longer convinced me. Thus I lost slowly, interest in the band, and as then came the news of Khan's exit, I thought this was going to be completely uninteresting to me the tape. Now in days Silverthorn lies before me and Chapter 4 is started. I had my doubts, zuzulegen the album, but the many positive reviews brought me but then do so. And I have not regretted it. Finally, the band has returned again to their sound, still a little dark, but once again much more accessible and more song oriented last. I've heard the album already several times, also the cover is wiedermal very good. I am very surprised and did not expect such a disk. The new singer also fits the top band, but he has the timbre of Roy, but still sounds peculiar, which is good. As I said for me a pleasant surprise as a longtime fan of the band, can only hope that this direction will get for the next albums. Will be topped Silverthorn, however, be difficult.
