Once in my no longer dewy PC (Fujitsu Siemens Scaleo Pi2662 with Intel Core2 Quad from 2007) originally built graphics card (nVidia 8600 GS) had given up the ghost (up bursting capacitors!), I was looking for a suitable replacement. As I under Linux (Ubuntu or Linux Mint) with graphics cards from nVidia in various PC after each distribution update ever had any problems with the provided by nVidia proprietary drivers and the open source driver, the map in terms of 3D capabilities also can not exploit particular, should be the new card from AMD / ATI. The open source Linux driver from ATI chips is m. E. matured, which is confirmed also during operation. My demands on the graphics card were at least a resolution of Full HD, since my Samsung SyncMaster BX2335 optimally can represent 1920 x 1080. On a special rapidity it seemed to me not to because I use no high-end games on PC (Linux, this is problematic in most cases). Main applications are with me Internet, office applications and video processing. It was also important that the card occupies only one slot, because the existing mid-tower case does not offer much space in this respect. After some browsing, I came across the HD6570, which seemed adequate for my purposes. Passive cooling I also found very attractive, since the previous card in particular acoustically very noticeable made under load and the fan also one was not the quietest. Despite the remaining three fans (power supply, CPU and case fan) of PC is now barely audible, so that I see confirmed the decision for a passive card. The graphics card provides for the installation stable and problem-free service in its full HD and occasionally in other resolutions. Currently I use Linux Mint 11 (Gnome 2) 64-bit, but will soon be on the LTS version 13 (MATE) change. Conclusion: For my purposes, the ideal graphics card.
