So I definitely put my old iron, and Philips have adopted this because its features.
What keeps me from giving it 5 stars is:
- Warm-up time is approximately one minute; other irons reach their reference temperature much faster,
- In principle, the iron will automatically turn off if not in use: after 8 minutes when it rests on the heel, and after 30 seconds if it remains on the sole. This very significant active safety sometimes after a few seconds, which is annoying. Other testers have not reported this fault, I suppose it is limited to the copy in my possession.
However, if I were to buy one, I would probably take the top model Philips GC4914 / 20 PerfectCare: Although it cost 30 euros more, but it eliminates the need to adjust the temperature according to the fabric, so sorting laundry. Some will object that above a certain price level is better to buy a steam plant. But besides the fact that a central take much space, an iron will always be useful for quick jobs.
