The technical data and more comprehensive product information incl. The manual is obtained on the website of Elson or Mobistel.
The processing of the unit is impeccable, the case is completely made of plastic, which can be seen due to the textured surfaces only at closer inspection. Positive is the small size and low weight. In the black version, the phone looks very appealing.
It is operated via the screen or the keys have a good tactile feedback. The detailed German manual is hardly needed the operation is intuitive very quickly understood despite the wide range of functions.
The "touch screen" reacts to pressure, not to touch, thus the term pressing screen would actually be correct. After a period of acclimatization the operation succeeds but substantially without pin. If you do not get along but without pin, it is inconvenient, because there is no trade in the device for the pin, so you have to attach it to a Bendel on the unit. To remove the pin that then also has to be rotated out of the holder.
When operating on the touch screen you should be aware that this is not an I-Phone. Already known from the I-Phone smooth scrolling, zooming, etc. Wipe does not exist.
But the entries are directly implemented without delay, unlike some more expensive devices with which some manufacturers try to copy the I-Phone.
The menus are strongly reminiscent of the user interface of LG (Prada and KU990).
The camera I have hardly used, you should not expect too much, the first impression was disappointing, however.
The MP3 player is OK.
Battery Life:. After 48 hours of standby incl various tests and some phone calls, the display shows 2/3 of capacity.
For phone quality: respect acoustics and transmission power with other simple devices comparable.
First conclusion:
The EL 580 is the cheapest touchscreen phone currently. However, it provides only limited touch feeling without scrolling and wiping.
At the processing and the commendable simple and fast user interface can not be faulted. The price seems reasonable. However, soon appear new interesting alternatives such as LG which are intended to be only slightly more expensive and offer more.
