The soft touch is really nice and provides security against the "feel" of sliding aluminum shell of the iPad. The installation is very easy and plastic, although the type "hard" is flexible enough at the corners and seems not brittle. Of course, this protection is probably not designed to be removed and replaced regularly, which would inevitably certainly not weaken the corners of that protection. The tape is actually practical to keep the Smart Cover.
