The shea butter has a pleasant, somehow slightly almond-like odor, which I do not find unpleasant, but the feel is certainly different and each is a matter of taste. The consistency is okay. The butter is packaged in different sized pieces and quite firm (not seen in the bucket might look as nice, but does not really matter). Once they were rubbed in the hand, they soften quickly. I have a pretty sensitive, neurodermitsche skin and tolerate this product very well. The shea butter leaves a pleasant feeling on the skin. I also use them partially in the face if I eg rough spots on the lips. For swimming I have already used. On the go you can decant small portions into a jar.
