Until recently I had never heard of the Hunger Games books or a film comes out this. The German translation (The Hunger Games) was me indeed already noticed in the local bookstore, but to buy it was never enough. The summary has me at first equal to the Schwarzenegger movie "Running Man" reminds and fundamentally it is also about the same. However Hunger Games is much more complex and we learn a lot about Panem and its districts (corresponding to the US after a nuclear war) and people's lives. The capital of Panem ruled with an iron hand and reacts with extreme harshness towards any disobedience and while the residents of the capital have to wallow in abundance most of the residents of the districts suffering from hunger, even though it is they who provide the raw materials and equipment to the capital. For this purpose also the each district comes a year 1 boys and one girl to the Hunger Games have to send, where they have to fight against each other until only one remains. This is where the book and it accompanies Katniss, Peeta, etc. of their nomination for the games through the training and the fighting in the arena ...
