This final book of fairy tales and legends is still unfinished above the other 2 on the point of view of quality writing and this is a very good prologue of Lord of the Rings. I advise those who read this book also take silmarillion. Volume 3 tells the story of the third age and it is not as long to read the Lord of the Rings.
