An emancipated percussion and an omniscient bass encounter guitar riffs and piano figures, which often form a powerful framework for Christian Scott's dynamic, powerful and crystal clear melodies, which are collected by first robust, but then unexpectedly running harmonic structures. The result is a patchwork of jazz, rock and postmodernism. Lovers of "Rewind That" will not be disappointed certainly.
One can as a listener to spend a lot of time to explore the album and to discover. The next time you hear one nevertheless rediscovered something that did not seem to be there the last time. My tip therefore: take enough time to listen in peace and enjoy.
